Vehicle Inspector

About the role

The Vehicle Inspector ensures that all vehicle repairs meet the highest quality standards and comply with USAF Technical Orders and Amentum ISO 9001 requirements. This role involves daily quality control, safety oversight, and support for mechanics in a maintenance shop or warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all vehicle repairs to maintain top‑level quality control.
• Monitor technician work, document rejected repairs, and report deficiencies to the Chief Mechanic.
• Conduct impromptu toolbox inspections and limited technical inspections (LTI) on assigned vehicles.
• Assist with on‑the‑job training, task certification, and periodic training of mechanics.
• Support mechanics with repairs, adjustments, and calibrations of transmissions, steering, braking, and other vehicle systems.
• Verify completeness and accuracy of maintenance forms, work orders, and parts requests.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials according to SOPs.
• Enter and maintain inspection data in the quality database and report safety equipment discrepancies.

Required profile

• Knowledge of USAF Technical Orders and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Ability to conduct vehicle inspections, toolbox checks, and LTI procedures.
• Experience in documenting repairs, parts research, and maintenance reporting.
• Commitment to safety practices, housekeeping standards, and proper use of PPE.
