General Accountant (Perfumes, Cosmetics, Retail or FMCG)

About the role

A company active in perfumes, cosmetics, retail or FMCG is looking for a detail-oriented General Accountant with 6 to 8 years of experience. The role covers daily accounting operations, accurate financial records, and support for financial statements and reports, with strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reconciliation and compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, accounting schedules and supporting documentation.
• Perform bank, cash and account reconciliations regularly.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor customer and supplier balances and follow up on outstanding payments and receivables.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and work with warehouse and operations teams on discrepancies.
• Monitor expenses, review invoices and ensure proper cost allocation and documentation.
• Support month-end and year-end closing.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards and company financial policies.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate with other departments for accurate reporting.
• Investigate accounting variances and recommend improvements to accounting procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 6 to 8 years of relevant general accounting experience.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, perfume, cosmetics or trading companies is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end closing.
• Familiarity with tax regulations, VAT and statutory reporting requirements.
